Automatic Running a bit rough

Sep 03, 2010 - 5:00 AM - by schoolboimario
schoolboimario's Avatar So my girl just got herself a nice MKIII VW and it runs great...... when it wants. Here's how it goes:

When I start the car up it will rev up and then down to 200-300 rpm and it seems it will almost stall, then it picks itself up again and idles at 900 (Which is fine, I just don't think it's normal to almost stall on ignition)

Secondly, when the car is put in anything but (P) it runs ROOOOOOUGGHHH if I don't give it gas. RPM will rise at 200 over 200 under very... [Read More]

New Jetta Driver Need Help

Sep 03, 2010 - 12:56 AM - by bondandracing
Hey, my name is Tom and as the title says I just bought a 2007 Wolfsburg. I have two questions. First, I am a private investigator and have to use my car for work. There are a bunch of things I have to do to make it work friendly like heavy tint, tv, camera friendly, and so on. But being new to the Jetta scene I want to know what your suggestion is to modify my Jetta that is different from other cars. I do realize there is a mod sticky, but I am not looking for the typical make my car faster... [Read More]

2007 Jetta 2.5 HID Help

Sep 03, 2010 - 12:15 AM - by spinplate1
OK, so its my first European car and I didnt even bother to check this out first. I ordered an H7 HID kit from DDM Tuning and to my surprise today noticed that it wasnt going to work because of the bulb socket thing. How do people get HID lighting with the OEM headlight setup? Is it possible or do you have to buy new headlights with projectors? If yes, will the H7 HID setup still work? Ive had HID's on my Toyota, Honda, even 2 Triumph motorcycles and have never had a problem until now. ... [Read More]

2003 2.0L transmission problems

Sep 02, 2010 - 11:53 PM - by onechriso
So i just bought a 03 jetta 2.0L auto. The problem with this car is the transmission. It only works in 1st gear! Reverse doesn't work and when you put it Neutral, it drives in 1st gear! It doesn't even roll. The check engine light is on and I checked the codes and it comes up with p0732, p0733, p0734. Since these codes mean that there is an incorrect gear ratio from 2nd-4th gear, could it be just a sensor or misaligned transmission. Or could this lead to a new/rebuilt tranny? PLEASE HELP!
