Yousufwalton's Avatar Ok so i have this rattling noise. i have gotten under the car, and resecured the heat shield its starting to rust around the mounting points but thats not the issue, in the area where i have highlighted in the picutre on the driver side near one of the large rubber plugs i hit around it with a hammer and there is something inside of it that is rattling starts around 1900rpm and stops around 2500 rpm how the hell do i get in there to get the damn thing out? driving me crazy when im driving... I bought a 98 GTI Vr6 with a misfiring issue
My thought was easy fix but boy was I very wrong that's why Im posting this
So I didn't know when the last time try did a tune up so that's the first thing I did new oil,air, and gas filters
Did an oil change new spark plugs an wires
Car came with a chipped ecu
So I decided to get a stock one cleaned the MAF and throttle body

Timing belt interval for 2.0l gas engine

Hey guys, I have a 2012 2.0l gas (5spd manual) and about 101000 km on it. I know that the timing belt is my next big maintenance piece, but I am super confused when it needs to be done. I have heard from many, many sources that timing belts are always done around the 100k mark. Then one vw dealer says 160k (and quotes 1300), while another says 120k, and a third says right now (quoting 900)!

96 Jetta GL misfiring after changing air filter.. Please HELP!!

HI
After replacing an aftermarket air filter on my 96 Jetta GL with a stock one so I could pass CA Smog test (passed all but visual with aftermarket air filter due to no C.A.R.B. sticker)
Now car is misfiring. The exact codes I am getting are P0440 (EVAP emissions system) and P0304 (cylinder 4 misfire).
