When I run the car while it's cold it works perfectly but when the car warms up it shifts at much higher rpm than it should. I can't help but feel it's a cooling issue because it works fine while its cold. Any help is appreciated. I plan to do an oil and filter change soon. It's a mk3 Jetta 2.0 agg engine I believe with around 210k miles.

I have a 2007 2.5L Jetta. My cigarette lighters all stopped working, so I checked the fuse located in the slot marked in the owner's manual. Nothing wrong with it. So just bought aa stick 95 jetta to with the 2.0 motor, said it needed aa crank shaft positioning sensor, swapped it out, didn't fix it. The car has a hard time starting, and when I do get it going it won't rev past 3k rpms, I'm getting to like 52 mph by the time it maxes out 5th. I'm a weekend warrior at best, and at this point I can't even drive it long enough to cycle the sensors, any ideas would be appreciated, this is my first vw, and the first car I don't want to pay my mechanic to fix.
