I've been watch some videos of people "painting" their emblems with this Plasti Dip stuff. Does anyone here have any experience with it? I wanted to do my trunk emblems in black. The front grill emblem I'll replace with a painted one off ebay.

Apparently a lot of people have been going through a plasti dip phase is what everyone is calling it.
But plasti dip works really good and is really easy to apply and take off if needed.
All it really is, is a rubber compound in a can. It's really easy to apply. Just clean whatever you are painting. Then tape off anything you don't want to get overspray and spray. That's it really. Usually 3-4 coats of plasti dip is recommended. But it's really good stuff to use.

Yea it's better of you try it first yourself.
But it is pretty easy to take off.
I have plasti dipped my rims before and had it on for almost a year. I did have to do touch ups here and there but when it came to taking it off. It was pretty easy. Just time consuming thanks to my spokes on my wheels.

Oh ok.
You shouldn't have any trouble if you take the emblems off.
Having them on you can do it too.
But you will need an exacto knife if you go that route.
And yes they do have a spray over that makes the plasti dip have a gloss finish instead of a flat black. And I think white would look good. Won't really know until you try it though.

I did plasti dip on my rims and on my friends rims (Rx8) + emblems for him, the emblems where pretty easy, first clean everything and make sure its dry.
1) put some tape around like a box around the emblem (rear) and then put some paper to the sides to cover up any spray...
2) apply 3 - 5 coats with like a 2 - 4 min between each.
3) let it dry for about 10 - 15 min
4) using a sharp edged plastic or even one of those small screwdrivers for lenses use it to cut the plasti dip coat from the outside of the emblem, make sure not to scratch your car paint (plastic is way better to do it with) and then peel off the outer wall.

Its fairly easy and to be honest we even did it so he would take the inside parts of the emblem to show the cars paint from the mazda the result was pretty nice.
