2005.5 Jetta automatic transmission shifting issues

Hello out there. I just bought a New Jetta 2005.5 for my daughter. After driving it a day or so it suddenly would start to slip or rev up just before it would shift up into the next gear. At first it seemed like only 2nd to 3rd, but it actually seems to eventually do it in all gears. This car has the 6 speed automatic/tiptronic unit and has 157,000 miles on it. Is this a common problem with this transmission?
I found the fluid fill port on the transmission but was reluctant to just add fluid as the port did not have a fill level on it.
I am a professional mechanic and can handle this work. if I could just get some input to help cut to the chase. I am searching for a Robert Bentley Manual now and I am considering buying the VAG COM diagnostic tool to help unlock these mysteries. But until they arrive I need some help. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for any and all replies..All information is useful so bring it on!

Thanks for the reply, but this manual is for the earlier MkIV Jetta. It won't help me because my car is a MkV (A5)
Does anyone out there have an Mk V Jetta with the Tiptronic transmission?
If so how well does your car shift in "D" (drive) under normal driving conditions?
Has anyone ever changed or added Transmission fluid/filter on this type of transmission and know where the level should be?

I have a 2006 Jetta 2.0T and my cousin has the same one you have. his is a 2006 Jetta 2.5. His transmission needed to be replaced. but his was under warranty. The warranty is good till 100,000 miles. his started to slip the same way yours is. It would slip shifting into reverse and when he would take off it would also slip. Your best bet is you have to change the transmission. I changed the transmission 2 times on my old 2002 Jetta. Because it was doing the same. It cost $700 for a used one but it was fine after the second trans. I always drive my 2.0T Jetta in "D" and when I need that extra oomph I put it into steptronic or "S",
Hopefully it is not your trans but if it is. Its not gonna cost $700. Your looking at more because of the steptronic
Best of luck to you
