Default Diy: Tint your tailights

TAKEN FROM ANOTHER SITE

Here is a simple DIY that will metamorphose your Tail lights for real cheap

what you'll need for:

RED TINT:
- a transparent Candy Red Spray can, Krylon and Testors make them. I got the Testors 1605 for this project

- a Clear Coat Enamel spray can
- 1000 grit Sand Paper

SMOKED TINT:
- a VHT night shade spray can
- and the same as above

here are the simple steps

1- Wash it

2- Wet Sand the whole taillight with Grit 1000

3- Wash and dry

4- Mask area you do not want to tint with tapes and newspapers (I wanted to remove the amber signal only but some guys like the reverse light tint as well, up to you. FYI: tinting reverse light can be illegal in some places)

5- spray a VERY LIGHT coat of transparent candy red and wait 20min

6- Spray a 2nd light again and wait 20

7- Spray a 3rd if needed and wait 20 (picture below shows result after 2nd coat for me)

8- Now wet sand gently again with 1000 grit + wash and dry

9- after sanding, if the red is not uniform, spay the whole taillight with one light coat of candy red and resand, if red is uniform skip this step (I didn't need it )

10- spray one light coat of Clear Coat Enamel and wait 20

11- 2nd clear coat and 20

12- 3rd clear coat and 20

13- Re-install the taillight after 2 hours min dry time

14- for best result, use a Polisher like UDM with a a light compound like Meguias #2 or #83 to perfect the clear coat reflection
