Starts and dies

Okay here is what i know..

the problem doesnt happen everytime.. and usually less when the car is warmed up..

I start the car.. and sometimes the RPMs drop to almost zero and bounce back up..

but it also will drop all the way and die.

I will get a video tomorrow. if needed

have you changed the fuel filter recently?

I had this problem and it turned out to be the ECU relay, Number 30.

ECU Control Relay Part Number: 165 906 381

Hope this helps. These are prone to fail.

OKay so i found the part.. only 4 bucks at a local autoparts store! just got find out the locatoin of the relay

yes.. but the rear o2 sensor has been cut out i figured that is way

also disconneted the harness for the ISV and it did not help either

Has your crank sensor ever been changed?

Can you hear your fuel pump humming when you turn the key?

i dont know... and yes.. remeber this problem is intermediant.. its not a constant thing.. more so when its cold.. im going to clean out the isv in a few

Cleaned the TB and ISV.. helped a little.. but still does the same thing..

even when it starts... after it fires the RPMS drop to almost 0 and the back up to common?..

is that normal? my GTI doesnt do that

now that ive done all this.. it almost always only does it on the first cold start..

should i clean the ISV more? i used a whole can of wd40 and cleaned it probably 5 or 6 times

thats weird man, sounds like maybe your gas lines are freezing up, get some iso heat stuff and run it in the gas.

it doesnt even when its not cold enough to freeze..
and like i can start it the first time(giving it gas for a second) and it will run fine..

then i can immediately turn it off.. and it normally starts fine

Bad fuel pressure regulator? Could be bleeding your pressure off. I'd also check the air intake temp sensor. If it's cold out and it's reading that it's 145* air coming into the engine it may just not be getting enough fuel.
