Thread: boost pressure sensor

    Default boost pressure sensor

i'm replacing the intercooler on my 01 tdi and am wondering if i need to have the boost pressure sensor on there or if i can bypass it. right now it's reading boost wrong. i'll replace if necessary, but would like to just bypass the sensor. any thoughts?

if you mean the MAP sensor, yes replace it, not bypass it.

i don't think it's the map sensor. my old intercooler has a sensor on the top passenger side, and the new aftermarket one i got doesn't. i called vw and was told it was a boost pressure sensor. i just need to know if i can bypass the sensor or if i need to drill into the new intercooler and add the sensor to it. thanks!
