    Question 2.0t OR 2.5

Heres the thing, IM getting an MK5 jetta for sure. I found a nice 08 automatic wolfsburg 2.0t, but i want a manual.. the only 6 speeds i can find are 2.5 engines, is it a BIG difference, do you think its worth getting the 2.5 engine just so its manual?

It is a huge diference. You would be much happier with a 2.0t. Id keep hunting for a 2.0t in a manual. You wont be disapointed.

why all the DSG haters? :P

i guess a 6MT is fine if you like shifting and messing with the clutch in heavy traffic.

For the price difference, you can get a 2.5L and one of C2Motorsports' Turbo Kits and be blowing these 2.0T's out of the water with 225 whp and could EASILY upgrade your kit to higher stages.

    JUST SAYIN.

    wanna race? lol

and to get 220whp on a 2.0 all you need is a $400 tune not a $3K turbo kit

thats like saying i can put a k04 kit on a 2.0 and then make 300whp.....

OP get whatever car is cleanest and you like best

That's why I said the price difference between the CARS... Factor in the price of a Rabbit vs a GTI and you should see enough difference to justify the price of the kit. Also, I'd like to see a dyno sheet for 225whp on Stage 1 2.0T. Stage 1 software (from most companies) project a 35-50 hp gain at the crank. That would bring the car to 240 crank. Factor in the 18-20% loss from crank to wheels you get on FWD cars and you're looking at about 192-196 whp.

Also, with the 2.5L kit, you dont have that small K03s turbo from the 2.0T so more power is easily achieved without running super high boost on the stock turbo and stressing it out.

PS: that 225 whp was at 7psi. Just sayin

    Try 500$ and 252hp from APR's Stage 1 flash....

APR Stage 2+ Flash, 3" Downpipe, HPFP, K&N Typhoon Intake
