Diesel Doesn't Like Starting when it's warm.
I recently bought an '86 Diesel Jetta coupe, and everything is great on it except the fact that it doesn't want to start when it's been warmed up, It starts everytime in the morning on the first crank, but once I drive it turn it off then back on it doesn't want to start it'll crank and crank until theres no more battery. I was told that it was most likely a bad alternator, So i changed that and the battery (which was toasted) seemed to help a little bit, but it sill wants to fight me the second and third times I start it. Any ideas as to whats going on here?

Doesnt sound like a battery / alternator issue at all. It sounds more like you have an injector line issue. While its cranking can you see tiny air bubbles in the return fuel line off the pump to the tank? I would consider replacing the soft rubber lines between the injectors, bleed it all off so you know there is no air in there and then see how you go.
