hi, all, this is my first posting,,,im new and novice.. I have a 2014 Jetta TDI.can anyone on here let me know what is under the sheetmetal that is under the rear seat. Is that where the fuel tank is? or wiring? Is there any space for speakers? if so anybody know some dimensions or ??? IF i need to post this in another fourm please let me know.
thanks a bunch.
I don't own the newer Jetta, but i would assume the Fuel tank is under the rear seats, since the spare tire well would sink down enough to not have room for the fuel tank.
You could always look under the car and see where the tank is located.
this is actually where the seacret compartment is in the car, 14 TDI's came with this secret compartment, no one know's why VW did this but it really seems like a waste of space to most car nuts but for drug smugglers it's a God send
There is sheet metal, and a wiring harness. My rear seats are out because
I use it as a cargo vehicle. You can also hear the fuel sloshing around
in the tank, and all the road noise with the seat out. The road noise IS
enough, that if you're in it for 6+ hours, you ears need to adjust once
you get out. Mine is loud, I need to Dynamat it, just haven't gotten around
to it. I also took the side trim off so the packages I put in do not ruin the
interior trim. SO, yeah, I got lots of road noise, to the point here I can't
completely hear once I get out of the car.
