    Default My 2004 GLI

I just picked up a 2004 GLI 1.8t to replace my totaled 2005 Grand Prix. A dude ran a stop sign and I broadsided him at 60 mph.

Came out of it with a broken collarbone and a broken second metacarpal, he walked away. Taking the opportunity to get something a little different.

More and better pictures will come, for now I'm just excited!

I just found one of those today, ordered already!
It's far from perfect, but everything is doable once I'm all healed up.
-Coolant leak which I've already got the part for
    -blower motor resistor pack needed
-the last owner put an exhaust on with no cat... i live in MN, but I'd still like it to be emissions friendly
-left bumper grille missing, i might put fogs down there if it won't obstruct airflow to the turbo too much
-from the driver's side, the windows only go down when you push automatic, like the second stop. the first stop doesn't work

There were blue LEDs in the interior that I already switched out for some really clean looking white ones. Not really a fan of colored lights in there.

This is my first European car, all my daily drivers in the past have been GM W-bodies - '92 Lumina, '95 Grand Prix, '05 Grand Prix. Then I've got my FR-S tucked away for another few weeks.
This thing is a lot of fun to drive, and it' a pretty solid head turner! I'm very happy with it, especially for the price I paid.

I wanted to go out and take a few better pictures with my new camera, but it was snowing and I was cold, but here are a few. It's a clean car! Loving it!

Looks good, the interior looks mint, so did you get a new hood?

Its in pretty nice shape! Little nicks in the steering wheel emblem and shift knob, but nothing shocking. Those Recaros are comfy!

Naw, I just bought a piece off eBay for like $10. If it doesn't work out, then I'll probably spend more and get a badged grille.

yea that's not a proper hood notch fill, a proper hood notch fill is welded in and re-painted as if it was factory

Well damn. Haha good to know. I'll probably just order a badged grille for now then.
