Default Add MDF Controls to Steering Wheel

This will apply to all applicable models, and platforms. Functionality varies.

You have to already have the Phone and radio controls on the left side, like so:

There is no module in the wheel if you do not have the left side controls. You can
buy the module, and both controls as a set. I got my right side on eBay for $24.00.

First you need to pop the air-bag off. There are two release tabs on the back of the
wheel, they get pushed to the side, as you pull in the bag.

Here is a video on how to remove the Air-Bag, all MK6: https://youtu.be/R3nemT6AsiU

Once the Airbag is off you will be able to remove the right side cover with a torx driver:

The black box at the bottom is the module for the controls, both sides, you can see
the empty plug on the right side of the module.

Unplug the air-bag, and set a side. It is recommended you disconnect the battery
when messing with the air-bag. At the very least, the car cannot be ON when pulling
the plug, OR plugging it back in.

This is the right side cover removed:

Here are the right side controls put in place, then next screwed in place, with the same
torx screw from the cover plate.

Next, you just run the wire down the sides, there is a channel for the wire, it's
pretty self explanatory, and you plug it into the module, and you are done.

    Button it all back up:

If you have the MFD controls on the right stalk, the buttons will work the same, unless
you use the ones on the stalk, then the controls from the wheel are ignored. It all
resets once you pull the key out, so that is not permanent.

The < and > buttons have no function, neither does the bottom return button on the
Jetta; there are no functions for those buttons with the Jetta cluster.

I would love to have the full control set including the MDF... Did you replace the steering wheel to do this? Is there any other way to access the MDF and its options

Did not replace the steering wheel, I said, I already had the LEFT controls, so I had the
    module in the wheel.

buy the module, and both controls as a set.
You will need the module, controls, and need VCDS to activate the features.
