Rusted out rocker?

Alright guys I'm honestly stumped. My 02 Wagons passenger side rocker is starting to rot out. Now from what I'm seeing when I search through ETKA (vw parts database) you can't just purchase a rocker separate. I want to get this fixed but I'm not sure how to go about it. Any advice?

I would grind to good metal, prime it, then fill the whole thing
in, and sand to shape, paint. Then, maybe cover it with plastic
skirting.

That's a tough area to work with, but if both sides are like that, you can
shape them both to match. If it were the whole rocker, a sheet metal repair
would be ideal, but that portion back there, is just a fill in and paint kind-a thing.

You need to remove as much rust as possible, so it does not spread as
quickly. If you fill it in, without getting the rust, it will rust all around
the filler and it will fall out.

You may need to drill some holes in the solid portion in the wheel well so
the filler has something to hold on to.

Then, if you start removing rust and see it just keeps going and going,
then you have another issue... I had a car rust like that, and I just
filled it in, shaped as I sanded, and repainted. I got the rust, so it
lasted for a while. Part of the bottom of the wheel well was like wet
cardboard, and I had to fill that in too, on top of keeping the hole where
the was a rubber plug in it. I should have just removed the plug, and cut
hole out too, and just filled it all in, but, it worked.

Mine, on the car I had, go so bad, the jack went through the rocker...
That was what prompted the investigation, and then the repair.

YOu have to get it done so water doesn't get inside there, and run all through
the rocker panel.
