I have tried MANY, and are back to the stock intake with K&N filter.
The stock intake is a cold air intake, follow the air path... It's
    been designed perfectly AS IS.

SOUND? Any aftermarket system with an exposed filter element..

performance? don't waste your money on an intake, put a K&N filter in, and spend the other $230+ elsewhere on the car.

Sound? Any open CAI with a cone filter attached. I have the CTS Turbo CAI and love it, sounds great!

Never mind I re read the title, as far as really changing the sound youd be better suited with an exhaust

This is true... what I have is technically a warm air intake from CTS, but it still makes some interesting sounds, no denying that.

This is also true, exhaust sound is where it's at, not intake whining
