    Default ac help

I have a 01 jetta and the ac just blows hot air. One day it was fine the next it Quit? It seems like the comp. wants to kick in but it just klicks. Also the idle goes up and down when doing so! Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Yes. The pulley is an electrical clutch. The outer part will spin all the time. When the AC is on the inner part should spin as well. IF that all works as advertised and the refridgerant is serviced up then it is probably the compressor itself. Junkyards are your friend.

Merik, your comp. is seized, right? That's why the outer pulley stops spinning with the AC switch on?

Have you been to Kramers yet? I wanna swing by sometime to see if they have a MK4 hood laying around.

Yes it is. Sorry just figured you knew. It's over by Sikorsky Mem. Airport in Stratford. Lordship area. Unlimited gets lots of stuff from there and told me if I find anything to get back with them and they'll get it for me at their price.
